Moose, Grizzly + Wolf Hunt

Experience big game hunting in Koliganek.

Moose:

State of Alaska Orientation Required.       

September 5-15.

​

Grizzly Bear: 

Three times slots; 10 days each.

Sept. 1-10; Sept. 11-20; and Sept. 21-30.

Wolf:

April. 7 days by snow machine.

GETTING THERE:

Enjoy rural views as you fly from Anchorage - Alaska's largest city - to Koliganek. You may choose to fly directly from Anchorage via Denaina Air. Alternatively, Alaska Air will take you to Dillingham to fly into Koliganek via various rural carriers. In Alaska, all flights are at the discretion of the air taxi service.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

From Koliganek, we will travel by boat to various spike camps along the Upper Nushegak River. Big game is highly active in this area and visitors must use extreme caution. Have your camera ready, you will see spectacular scenery and wildlife along the river. 

​

GEAR:

The Alaska Peninsula is subject to intense storms, wind and rain. Pack wool sweaters, polypropylene gear and under clothing, rain gear, waterproof gloves, waterproof 16" lace up hiking boots and 8x30 or 10x24 binoculars. Laundry and bathing facilities are non-existent. Bring extra and weather appropriate clothing.

MEALS + COMMUNICATION

Meals are provided. Cell service is available in Koliganek which is provided by GCI. Satellite phones work everywhere.

AFTER THE HUNT:

Expert trophy care is provided while in camp. You are responsible for care and shipping at departure from Koliganek.
