GETTING THERE:
Enjoy the majestic scenery as you fly from Anchorage - Alaska's largest city - to Chignik Lake. You may choose to fly directly from Anchorage via Lake Clark Air. Alternatively, Alaska Air will take you to King Salmon to fly into Chignik Lake via Grant Air. In Alaska, all flights are at the discretion of the air taxi service.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Base Camp at Chignik Lake (a populated village) is still a wilderness area. Bears (common both day and night) and wolves frequently roam through the village. Be alert and ready to move slowly and cautiously if you encounter big game and be respectful of the residents of the community.

TRAVEL TO SECONDARY CAMP:
From Chignik Lake we will travel by boat to the Secondary Camp on the Black River and to surrounding hunting areas. Big game is highly active in these areas and visitors must use extreme caution.

GEAR:
The Alaska Peninsula is subject to intense storms, wind and rain. Pack wool sweaters, polypropylene gear and under clothing, rain gear, waterproof gloves, waterproof 16" lace up hiking boots and 8x30 or 10x24 binoculars. There is limited laundry service in Chignik Lake. Bring extra and weather appropriate clothing.

MEALS, COMMUNICATION + ACCESSIBILITY:
Meals are provided. Cell service is the only phone service in Chignik Lake which is provided by GCI. Satellite phones work everywhere. Hunts are wheelchair accessible.

AFTER THE HUNT:
Expert trophy care is provided while in camp. You are responsible for care and shipping at departure from Chignik Lake. Under State of Alaska law, successful bear hunters must wait four (4) years to book another hunt in Unit 9E.
